Game Of Two Halves

The U13s match was a real game of two halves on a rainy morning at Gordon Playing Fields. Our boys dominated the first half with some superb football and we went in 3-2 up at the break. A late Armagh goal close to half time would prove costly.

It was a different story in the second half, Armagh very much on top and our boys struggled to get going after the break. Armagh raced to a 4-3 lead and the game became very stretched as we searched for an equaliser. Came it did though and at 4-4 it was anyone’s game.

A soft goal gave Armagh the victory as we struggled to condense the space. A hard result for the boys to take. Even the referee commented that it was one of the best games he’d done in youth football. A very competitive game with both teams giving their all but congratulations to Armagh on their win.

Next up for us is the NIBFA second round tie against Portadown next Saturday. We can’t afford to be as undisciplined in our positional play and this is something we will work hard on.
