Last Minute Goal From Patterson Earns Town Share Of Points

Lurgan Town Under 17s started their league campaign on Friday night away to Armagh City under the lights at Holm Park. Traditionally this is always a great game with nothing between the two sides and always played in good spirits. Friday night was no different.

In the opening 20 minutes both defences stood firm. In the 23rd minute Town should of went ahead. A great cross into the box from Toby Haire found Eoghan McMahon but his effort somehow went wide of the post. 0-0 at the half way point. On the 50 minute mark Armagh City got the opening goal of the game. This came from a corner where the 6 foot centre half made no mistake from close range. Jake Agnew kept Town in the game with a world class shortly after and Liam Campbell drove a temping cross into the box but unfortunately nobody could get on the end of it.

On the 68 minute mark Lurgan Town got their deserved equalising goal. Liam Campbell sent in a great corner and Daniel Patterson gambled near post to head past the Armagh City keeper.

Final score 1-1
