Patterson The Star In Win

Before the game against Warrenpoint, Lurgan Town Predators 05 remembered young Jordan Banks by wearing shirts with Jordan’s favourite number 7. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan’s family and his club Clifton Rangers Junior football Club.

Scarva Park was a new venue for the Predators where the pitch looked in fine condition. Town were on it from the start today and nearly opened the scoring in the first min. A great through ball from Eoghan McMahon played in Ryan Lee Brown but he dragged his shot wide of the goal. Lurgan kept the pressure on and deservedly opened the scoring in the 5th min. Good build up play from Toby Haire played in Eoghan who delivered a great ball into the box for Daniel Patterson to head home.

Town were causing Warrenpoint loads of problem down the right hand side and this did not take long till Lurgan doubled their lead. This came from a quick throw in by Haire who put Ryan Lee Brown and his perfect cross was met again by Patterson to make it 2-0. In the 14 min Daniel got his hatrick, a cross ball from James Kelly where Patterson made no mistake. The best goal of the day came with a great tackle by Haire who then played a one two with Calum Carson who played a split telling pass to McMahon who again delivered a great cross into the box where Patterson rose like a salmon to get his 4th of the afternoon. Just before half time from a great cross by Ryan Lee Brown unfortunately the Warrenpoint defender put it into his own net.

In the 2nd half Patterson nearly grabbed his 5th but the Warrenpoint keeper made a good save. Ben Hendron nearly made 2 from 2 games when from a corner he couldnt keep this header down. Late on Jack Mullins had a long range effort but the Warrenpoint defender made a great block.
