Baptism Of Fire

It’s been a baptism of fire for the young Swifts team as they lost their third consecutive game on Saturday. The Swifts found themselves 5-1 down at halftime with Callum Watkins getting the goal. There was a big improvement in the second half as Ryan Blacoe tapped in a Lewis McKinley free kick that came of the crossbar. Callum Watkins scored an excellent goal just after Caledon Rovers scored a sixth. Lewis McKinley watched on as his free kick seemed to be finding the top corner but the Caledon keeper got a finger to it.

Callum Watkins scored 2 of the 3 Town goals

Lurgan lost 6-3 and have been learning hard lessons in the league against some quality players. Lots of young players getting experience in a tough league. On the day Sean McNally, Mark Christie and Callum Watkins performed well but it was young Ethan Gorman getting the player of the match.
