Derby Win For U14s

The Lurgan Town U14 Mid Ulster boys won their local derby 7-2 against TTBS yesterday. The match, played in perfect conditions, saw both sides start well and both created good chances to go ahead.

On 7 minutes Town took the lead when an excellent through ball from Aiden Conlon put Dean Bradbury one on one with the keeper and he finished neatly into bottom corner.

To their credit TTBS hit back within a few minutes when their striker scored with a breakaway goal. This managed to spur Town on. They controlled the rest of the game and played some excellent football.

2nd goal was a 20 yard top corner drive from the in form Jake McMurray. Playing out of position in centre midfield he fought like a terrier for every ball and dribbled and passed well all match. Callum Emerson got the 3rd with a goal straight from a corner kick.

More pressure from Town on the 30 minute mark was rewarded when Corey Nelson scored a half volley from 15 yards straight to roof of the net.

HT – 4-1

Another good 35 minutes from Town in the 2nd half was rewarded when Mahmoud Shheidh scored an excellent solo goal. Andrew Matthews got himself 2 goals aswell before the finish.

An excellent all round team performance from Town and a well deserved 3 points. Thanks to Darren Mallon for refereeing at the last minute.

The Lurgan Town lads want to wish a speedy recovery to the Young TTBS defender who was taken to hospital with a knee injury.
