Lurgan Town U14s played Warrenpoint Colts on Saturday morning in the Lisburn league at Dromore & came away with a comfortable 8 – 1 win.
The Town boys were in control from the 1st whistle & took the lead on 2 mins when McGlade broke down the right wing & fired a hard low cross to the near post & Greer nipped in front of the defender & keeper to poke home from close range. 1 – 0 up. Town missed a few more chances before Cahoon smashed a 25 yarder into the top corner for 2 – 0. Then it was time for Warrenpoint to get their consolation goal. With the score now at 2 – 1 that fired the Town boys up again & within 5 mins they were 3 – 1 up when McGlade scored from close range. The 1st half ended with Town leading 3 – 1.
With a few subs at halftime the Town boys came out & totally dominated the 2nd half playing some lovely passing football that Warrenpoint couldnt live with. Town added another 5 goals making the final score 8 – 1. The goals from Greer, Murray, Moore and Suchonski with 2. Well done lads for putting on a great display of football today.
