The U15 girls were on the end of their heaviest defeat in 2 seasons when they travelled to a strong Killen team. Lurgan lost 9-0 which Killen striker Chelsea Scott scored eight. Chelsea was different class to everyone. The Lurgan girls looked tired and lethargic and very rarely threatened the Killen goal.
There was a lack of desire from the majority of the girls however a few positives were Jessica Pugh in goal despite playing injured as Lurgan already had a couple unavailable. Nicole Owens and Maeve McConaghy were the standout outfield players for Lurgan with their never say die attitude as they fought and battled until the last kick of the ball.
It certainly wasn’t a performance that the Lurgan coaches want to witness again however credit has to go to the opposition for their total commitment to winning the game.
