Town Firsts travel to the Bog Road in Lisburn tonight to take on Lower Maze in the second league game of the season. Town drew their opening game, 1-1, away to Markethill Swifts. Henry Capper with the goal. Maze went down 4-1 to Dromore Amateurs in their opening game on Saturday past.
Down the years it has always been a difficult place to travel to. Town always know they are in for a difficult game against a dogged Maze team. This said, Town managed their biggest win of the season last year in the same fixture winning by 7-2. In the reverse fixture at the Arena Town again ran out winners by 3-2.
Manager Lee Dickson commented: “The boys are looking forward to the match. It is always a good game between the two clubs, so tonight shouldn’t be any different! They like to score goals, and so do we.
Personally I think if the match could of been played on Sunday our boys would have welcomed it, just to put right the one mistake they made on Saturday. They were that frustrated with the result. In saying that, looking at the league table after the opening match, a draw wasn’t the worst outcome. We are definitely treating it one game at a time in this hectic period”.
