The U19s travelled to Portadown on Saturday to play Bourneview in a league game. Lurgan had found themselves 3 goals up after six minutes and 8 up at halftime. The first goal was scored by Callum Watkins when he ran onto a pass from Alex Woods and dinked the keeper. Callum got the second this time after an assist from Andy McIvor. Then the goal of the game was scored by Alex Woods with a quick turn and strike from 18 yards out. Jack Evans got his first of the season when hitting home a rebound of the keeper. The 5th goal was scored by Andy McIvor after super play by Tim Millen when he got down the wing and crossed. Next up Jack O’Neil got his first of the season when he tapped home a pass from Andy McIvor. Goal number 7 was assisted by Callum Watkins and finished by Aaron Winters. The final goal of the half won’t go down as the goal of the season as Lewis McKinley watched his shot fumbled by the keeper after he received a pass from Jack Evans.
Lurgan continued in the same vein in the second half with goal 9 coming from Aaron Winters from another Tim Millen assist. There were 4 substitutes made within five minutes of the half starting. Ryan Blacoe entered the game and within minutes he scored a great free kick after Aaron Winters was fouled just outside the box. Aaron Winters got his hattrick when he tapped home a Lewis McKinley cross. The 12th goal was scored by Jonathan Russell when he headed in a Simon Wilson cross. Andy McIvor scored the final goal of the game after following in a cross from Jonny Russell. Bourneview may have been outplayed but they didn’t stop working hard and nearly got on the scoresheet but Adam Craig made sure he was getting that clean sheet.
There were many good performances in the game with Tim Millen, Andy McIvor and Aaron Winters playing well but player of the game went to Alex Woods.
