Lurgan Town U13s played TW Braga on Saturday morning in the quarter final of the Lisburn Shield at Ballymacoss and ran out comfortable winners 10-0. In a completely one sided game Town controlled things from start to finish & were 5-0 up at half time with goals from Adhamh Towe (2), Shea Murphy (2) & Dylan Emerson.
The 2nd half started the same as the 1st with the Town boys in control & it wasn’t long until Shea Murphy had completed his hat- trick when Jamie Stringer played him in on goal & he slotted the ball passed the advancing keeper. Dylan Emerson got in on the act scoring 2 goals in 5 mins to complete his hat- trick aswell but he wasn’t finished there he added his 4th goal of the day just after Dylan Alexander had got the goal of the game in a move which saw 15 passes right from the Town keeper Jack Calvert who rolled the ball out to Krisy Cassells & 14 passes later Dylan Alexander was sweeping the ball home from an Andrew Orr cross. The match finished there with the Town boys going into the semi-final of the shield.
Special mention has to go out the TW Braga team for their spirit in not giving up & fighting right to the end even with the score line being what it was. A get well soon message to Town’s keeper Diarmuid Whitmarsh who took sick in the warm up .
