Friendly Win For Colts

With North End Youth pulling out of the league Lurgan Town Under 13 Colts got the 3 points without kicking a ball.

With no match T.W Braga very kindly agreed to a friendly match at Ballymacoss playing fields Lisburn. Lurgan came out of the traps early and came close with a few long range effects. Both Joey Macdonald and Jake McMurry where bossing the midfield and switching the play at every opportunity. The colts should have went ahead when a great through ball from Harry Smithe put Luke Carson through who hit the crossbar. Lurgan kept up the pressure and carved out another great chance when a shot was parried to Harry Smithe you hit the post. Chances where coming thick and fast another through ball from Macdonald put Carson through but he dragged this shot passed the post. Was it is going to be one of these days for the Colts?

On the 23 min Braga give away a free kick just outside the penalty area Liam Campbell stepped up and drove a unstoppable shot passed the keeper. Nothing more than Lurgan Town deserved. T.W Braga started the second the brightest with a couple of half chances. Out of the Run of play Town doubled there lead it came from another through ball from MacDonald which put Carson through on goal this time he calmly slotted it passed the keeper. On the 43 min Braga got there deserved goal this game from a corner which was not cleared properly. Braga pushed for the equaliser but Town stood firm. Colts should put the game to bed when Jack O’Brien played in Adam Banks but he pulled his shot wide. With 7 mins to go Town secured the win when Tyler Bradley finished well from a great through ball from Jack O’Brien

This was much improved performance from last week. Lurgan Colts should of had the game out of sight in the first half going forward need to take our changes or it may come back to haunt us in future weeks. Next up a local derby with Lurgan Celtic next Saturday.
