IFA Girls Futsal

The clubs head coach Phil McKinley attended the IFA Schools Girls Futsal Regional Heats yesterday as coach for Lurgan Junior High School. The school entered two teams into the year 8/9 section. The standard was high however it was the LJHS girls that came out on top. In fact both teams made it to the final with the A team edging it 2-1.
The A team consisted of 6 current Lurgan Town players. The team scored a total of 19 goals with LT players Alex McILwaine scoring 9, Rebecca Wilson 8, Ellie McBride 1 and Kelly Patterson 1. Keeper Jessica Pugh only conceded one goal in 5 games was well protected by defender Chloe Stewart.

The B team consisted of all year 8s and were the surprise package as they had 2 wins and 1 draw in their 3 group games therefore topping the group on goal difference. The club had Ellie Beattie representing the club in the B team. The final was end to end with both teams going all out for the win.

Coach Phil has been impressed with the group of talented players at the school as he continues with their development at the after school football training.
