Entertaining Draw For MU12s

under 12 mid ulster

The Mid Ulster U12s played Markethill in Tandragee on a rainy Friday night and these two teams entertained the onlookers in a draw. Town started in the front foot and had a good few chances with Nelson and Matthews coming close to opening the scoring.

Markethill took the lead only for Town to equalise straight away when a good move was brilliantly finished off with a low drive from the lively Mallon. He had another great game and is growing in confidence following his man of the match from the week before. Markethill took the lead again from a dodgy offside decision in which the ref apologised for afterwards when he realised he got it wrong. Crawford equalised for Town two minutes from half time driving home a corner.

Markethill dominated the start of the 2nd half and quickly went two goals up. Their 3rd goal was a delicate chip from the centre forward worthy of winning any match. With 2 minutes left Town pushed 4 up front. Nelson, Matthews, Bradbury and Mallon were causing havoc and were rewarded with 2 quick goals from Bradbury and Ward to get a deserved equaliser.  Town pushed in the last minute for the winner but a draw was a fair result.

Every single player deserves credit for a good squad display on a cold wet night. A special mention to Ref William Ashton who was again excellent and let the game flow on every opportunity.

Squad: Hibble, Barr, Emerson, Russell, Mallon, Bradbury, Ward, Adamson, Nelson, Matthews, Crawford.
