Lurgan Town Colts U13’s took on Lisburn Ladies at Moira Park on Saturday 2nd September 2017. This was the first match for the Under 13 Colts in the Lisburn league. Lurgan had 3 good chances in the first 10 mins but weren’t able to convert them.
Out of the blue Lisburn Ladies opened the scoring with a very good shot. However, Lurgan gradually became the stronger team and equalised when Jack O’Brien played a really good through ball to Caolan Ritchie who finished very well hitting the ball past the keeper at the near post. The same combination worked again to make it 2-1 as Lurgan started to make more chances as the first half wore on.
In the second half, Lisburn came close with a couple of shots before Lurgan scored a third to make it 3-1 when Daniel Graham fed Joey McDonald and Joey hit a really well placed shot into the keeper’s far corner. Lurgan again gradually had more possession and chances in the second half and went close when a Jake Byers header was deflected onto the bar. For the first league game of the season, it was great to start with a win and Lurgan ran out worthy winners.
