Two In Two

The U13 girls came up against tough opposition on Tuesday when then played TTBS in their second league game. Katie Gilmore and Jessica Greenlee returned to the squad after being unavailable on Saturday.

It was an evenly contested match early on but Rebecca Wilson was causing problems for the TTBS defence with her wing play. Rebecca was involved in Lurgan’s opening 3 goals. First to score was Kayla McGrory then Katie Gilmore tapped in the second and Rebecca scored an outstanding goal into the top corner. Blathnaid was having a superb game in Lurgan’s defence along with Chloe Stewart, Shannon Haddock and Jessica Pugh who was constantly talking and dealing with any shots coming her way. TTBS then scored a couple of quick goals that put the pressure on Lurgan however Kayla scored her 5th goal in two games.

Lurgan had other opportunities to increase their lead but efforts from Kelly Patterson, Ellie McBride, Alex McILwaine, Kayla and Jessica Greenlee were either saved or off target. TTBS cut Lurgans lead to one in the last minute but Lurgan held on to win 4-3.

The team may not have played as well as Saturday but they give everything and a special mention to Ellie Beattie from the U11s as she played with composure and never shirked a tackle. Well done girls.
