Ayr Festival Round Up

Lurgan Town Mid-Ulster Under 12’s played teams from across Scotland and performed brilliantly to win all 6 of their games at the tournament and be the top Under 12 team.

The team’s defence was very strong throughout and conceded only 4 goals in the 6 matches.  At the other end of the pitch, the boys scored 22 goals.

Jack O’Brien, Joey McDonald and Luke Carson scored 5 goals each, Adam Banks and Daniel Graham 3 goals each and Liam Campbell also scored 1.

The team pressed well, crossed and passed well and no other team could match the work rate of the Under 12’s.

It was an outstanding team performance and the group consistently played the best football among all of the under 12 teams – it was brilliant to watch.

Squad: – Jack Brannigan – Toby Haire, Ben Hendron – Daniel Graham, Jack O’Brien, Joey McDonald, Liam Campbell – Adam Banks, Luke Carson

Lurgan Town Predators are a relatively new team and had a mixture of experienced and inexperienced players at Ayr.  The boys showed great commitment and passion and performed better and better as the tournament went on.

They had some unfortunate key moments and decisions that did not go their way in close games but it was brilliant to see the boys develop and improve.

Ben English, Harry Smith and Lewis Briggs scored the goals but everyone contributed.  It was great experience for the team and both the boys and the parents can be very proud of the way the players performed.

Squad: – Scott McIvor – James Wright, Morgan Harrison, Ben English – Daniel Lindsay, Harry Smith, Lewis Briggs, Noah Treanor – Tyler Bradley
