Lurgan Town MU14s wanted to forget about last weeks 5-3 defeat to Magherfelt Sky Blues with a win against Banbridge Rangers on Saturday. Town started strong creating chances galore. The Banbridge keeper keeping them in it with a few world class saves. Soon Town broke the deadlock with a lovely passing move finding Callum Gordon who executed nicely. Town had the momentum and moments later Ryan Prunty scored from a tight angle to make it 2-0 to Lurgan Town at halftime.
Town made a lot of substitutes in the second half as it was a very hot day and every player was working to keep this victory. Banbridge soon got a freekick from about 30 yards out and scored it to make it 2-1 and also helped Rangers get right back into the game. Town were just trying to hold on and seal the victory but as Banbridge started to get tired there was space on the pitch which Town exploited as Lewis Kennedy whipped a beautiful ball in to Joe McConville who find the target. The final score 3-1 to Lurgan and a nice victory coming towards the final stages of the season.
Man of the Match goes to Sean McNally who covered every blade of grass on the pitch to help win the game.
