Lurgan Town NU14 travelled to the Dub in Belfast on Friday night to play Bangor and came away with a terrific 6-0 win. After the disappointment of conceding a last minute equaliser in the previous match to them at home the boys were determined to put it right.
Town started well and had a few early half chances before some great football found Craig McCorry in the box and he fired in the opener. Town continued to press and Jamie Gillis found himself in behind the back line time and time again almost scoring after charging down the keepers clearance. It remained 1-0 at half time.
The early dominance in the second half paid off when Rhys Emerson took a ball well on the edge of the box and dribbled through to finish well. They were 3 up shortly after, Daniel peppers corner was headed in by Niall Dummigan. Luke Kerr added a fourth after some good work on the right between Neal Anderson and Daniel Greer. The goals continued to come and Rhys Emerson added a fifth cutting in from the left and curling in a superb effort. They weren’t done and again some good work on the right led to Neal Anderson playing in a sublime pass for Luke Kerr to score again. A great performance from the boys with some great football on show. Every single player contributed well to an enjoyable game.
