Local Derby Upset

under 14 mid ulsterTown faced Lurgan Celtic in the third match of the season between the two sides in which Town won the two previous. Town started slow with no player talking or showing for the ball it didn’t look like the boys were up for it. This showed as Lurgan Celtic scored with 15 minutes left of the first half. The half went on and Town were creating more chances than before but none of which came to a goal.
The second half began and with some fresh legs on the pitch Town were hungry for a goal. Both sides were playing quite bad football until the Lurgan Celtic centre forward was brought down on the edge of the box. The number 4 took the freekick and placed it into the bottom left underneath the wall. After this Town dropped their heads and conceded another freekick from a bit further out this time.
Town thought they had got a goal when Ethan Sands scored but then got disallowed as it was offside. This summed up Lurgans’ day. Town played very badly the whole game and deserved to lose. They had no hunger or fight which showed as by the result. The game ended with Lurgan Celtic victorious and Town put to shame. A day to forget for Lurgan.
