Lurgan Town Mid Ulster Under 14’s travelled away to Roe Valley Youth in their first league game in a while. Town started slow with chances few and far between. After a while Town got chances but were not put away and it continued goal less.
The start of the second half and Town were out on the front foot getting in behind and putting the oppositions defence under pressure. All this pressure payed off as David McNally got brought down for a penalty and he slotted away with the help of a bad goal mouth.
Town were confident and looking to extend their lead with Ryan Prunty and Odhran McGivern coming close to doing so. Town eventually made it 2-0 due to good work with Ryan Prunty dinking a lovely ball into David McNally who headed the ball into the back of the net.
Town were very confident, the defence were cleaning up nicely and keeping Roe Valley’s dangerous striker very quiet. This confidence showed as Ethan Sands finishes an outstanding ball from Dylan McKerr halfway through the second half. Town got another straight after with Josh Milne the goal machine scoring for his 7th of the season from centre back.
Roe Valley did get a consolation goal, a very good one at that. No keeper was stopping the centre midfielders 40 yard shot straight into the top right corner.
The game ended with Town 4-1 winners and was 3 points in the bag. Man of the match was Jake McKnight who was solid at the back and was unlucky not to have got a clean sheet.
