Town Impress In Friendly Game

Lurgan Town Mid-Ulster U12’s took on Loughgall in a friendly at Lurgan on Saturday 14th January 2017.
Lurgan did some good passing and clearance headers in the first half and came close with a few shots.  Their good work was rewarded when Joey McDonald finished well with a header low down from a good cross by Liam Campbell.

Jake McMurray was making a lot of good runs on the right wing and put in a number of excellent, dangerous crosses but Lurgan couldn’t convert them. 

Liam Campbell was I’m sparkling form also making good runs on the left side and he was rewarded when he finished well with a smart finish past the keeper from close range. 

In the second half, Liam Campbell did a great run and passed to Luke Carson who almost made it 3-0 but the keeper turned his shot onto the post.  

Loughgall got a goal back to make it 2-1 with header. 

Lurgan had a number of chances and finally converted one when Jack O’Brien flicked on a Liam Campbell corner and  Harry Smith stabbed home a good finish from close range, to make it 3-1.

Liam Campbell hit the post with a beautiful left foot shot from outside the area which beat the keeper but then lb clipped the outside of the post.

Lurgan ran out worthy winners with a really good performance across the team, with Jake McMurray and Liam Campbell outstanding on the wings.
