Armagh Prove Too Strong For U12s

Lurgan Town Mid-Ulster U12’s took on Armagh City in the League Cup at Holm Park on Saturday morning, 19th November 2016. Lurgan were under pressure from the start and Armagh really impressed.  Morgan Harrison saved an almost certain goal with a brilliant block in the 6 yard box. Lurgan had a chance when Joey McDonald played a phenomenal through ball inside the defender but we couldn’t convert the chance. Lurgan defended and battled very well, the goalkeeper and defence had a good first half but Armagh played some very good football and took the lead with a shot high into the Lurgan net.

Armagh continued to press Lurgan and gave them no time on the ball.  They had a number of further chances including one brilliantly blocked by James Wright.  Finally they scored a second with another excellent shot. Armagh scored a third with a deflected shot and a fourth with another shot into the corner. Lurgan battled well throughout, with a lot of good defensive work by Morgan Harrison and James Wright after he came on.  Toby Haire and Ben Hendron were strong and solid as usual and Ben was the pick of Lurgan’s players.

Squad: Jack Brannigan — Toby Haire, Morgan Harrison, Ben Hendron, James Wright — Liam Campbell, Daniel Graham, Joey McDonald, Jake McMurray – Adam Banks, Tyler Bradley
