U12 MU Draw Against Dromore

Lurgan Town Mid Ulster U12’s met Dromore at Tandragee on Saturday morning .  Lurgan were the stronger team in the first half, with lots of energy and hard work.

Around 20 mins into the game, good work by Liam Campbell on the left hand side led to Joey McDonald picking up the ball and giving a perfect pass through the middle to Adam Banks and Adam ran onto it and slotted it past the keeper.

Lurgan’s impressive first half performance was rewarded with a second goal just before half time.  Liam Campbell’s shot came off the post and the ball rebounded out to Joey McDonald. Joey calmly placed his shot into the goalkeeper’s top left corner – a brilliant finish.

Jack Brannigan in nets made a number of very good saves in the match, especially two in the first half from well struck free kicks.

In the second half, Dromore were the stronger team and Lurgan struggled to retain possession and to clear their lines.  Dromore pulled one goal back and from then on, most of the pressure was on the Lurgan end.

With only 1-2 minutes to go, Lurgan were very unfortunate to concede an own goal and the game ended 2-2.  Dromore probably deserved the draw.

Lurgan town had a number of very good performances and man of the match was a tough call but Liam Campbell and Joey McDonald were two of the star performers.
