Lurgan Town U14 NL played Glenavon Academy last night the National League and came away 2-1 winners. Town started brightly and had the best of the opening exchanges and after several good opportunities eventually took the lead. A super ball by Daniel pepper found Rhys Emerson and he slid the ball past the keeper. Town squandered a host of opportunities and eventually Glenavon equalised. Town continued to probe, Michael McConville hit the bar with a header but they couldn’t find the back of the net.
After the break Lurgan made hard work of the game, a combination of lackluster play and missed opportunities almost cost them the game, within those opportunities two missed penalties. However they did eventually score a winner. A fantastic break down the right by Daniel Pepper saw him cross a fantastic ball in for the excellent Nathan Bell to finish superbly. A lackluster display by Town but a win nonetheless.
