With the South 2 league trophy secured Lurgan Town Ladies are preparing for the League Cup Final on Tuesday 30th August v Killyleagh Ladies at Crewe Park Lisburn.
Manager Davy Welshman “After an amazing night on Wednesday lifting the league trophy the girls have been given a few days break to prepare for the final on Tuesday. This will be their 7th match in August and shows the commitment and the hard work the girls put in not just in this month but throughout the season. We are looking forward to the final and with Killyleagh beating PSNI on Wednesday its a case of 1st v 2nd. Killyleagh have steadily improved as the season has progressed and we congratulate them on securing a place in the play offs, we know we will be in for another tough encounter on Tuesday. We will have a squad of 17 to pick from which at this stage of the season is fantastic. Only Emma Harper is working and Lisa Goodman is recovering from her operation last week we would have had a full squad to pick from. We are coming to the end of the season and we would ask as many as possible to come out on Tuesday and cheer the ladies on. We had another fantastic crowd on Wednesday for the last league game and I know it encourages the girls when they see so many down supporting them”.
Kick off for the final will be at 7.30pm.
No date has been arranged for the Mid Ulster Cp Final v Newry City ladies. Once it is agreed details will be posted via clubs social media outlets.
