Ladies Progress In Challenge Cup

After a Bye in Round 1, Lurgan Town Ladies played new side Rosario Ladies in Round 2 of the Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup last Friday evening at Annagh United, behind closed doors.

There were hat-tricks for Elisha Donnelly and Sarah Shaw, and a debut goal for young Megan Jones. Roisin Bolger and Amanda Morton also got on the score sheet. Meanwhile, new goalkeeper Tara O’Neill conceded an early goal in this, her first match, but soon settled well into nets, to make sure it was the only one.

Next up, the ladies meet either Bangor Ladies or Belfast Swifts (due to play 4/10) on Friday 16 October, at a venue to be arranged by the IFA.
