Big Win In Horrible Conditions

Lurgan Town MU14 team took a break from the league to play in the cup competition. The boys played Saturday morning in the strong wind and heavy rain and came out 5-2 winners.

They started the match on the front foot and took their first chance after 10 minutes with a goal from David Ward. Andrew Matthews and Mahmoud Shheideh kept up their great scoring run with a goal each before half time. HT 3-1

To their credit Moneyslane battled on and got a neat breakaway goal to make it 3-2. Mahmoud settled the game with 10 minutes left and Dean Bradbury added the 5th a few moments later.

That’s the team into the 1/4 final to play St Mary’s. David Ward and Tom Newett deserve mention on the left side as they both had excellent games.

Man of the match was Corey Nelson. He was a Constant threat to the Moneyslane defence, set up a couple of goals and was unlucky on a few occasions not to score.

Great team effort on an awful day.
