Lurgan Town MU14s travelled to Tandragee on a windy Friday evening. Tandragee won the toss and decided to play wit the strong wind in the first half.
It was a very scrappy opening with few chances for both sides but with the wind Tandragee did the fair share of attacking. They scored with a free kick from some 30 yards, helped by the wind into the net.
Town’s defence delt with everything really well in the 1st half and didn’t let the Tandragee attacks get into dangerous positions.
The 2nd half was one sided. Town used the wind to their advantage and were a constant threat to Tandragee. The equaliser came from Aiden Conlon with 15 minutes left. A cool chest control in the box and then chipped the keeper.
The wind had died down by now but Town kept the pressure on but couldn’t break down the Tandragee defence again.
An excellent performance from everyone of the lads again, every week they are setting the bar that wee bit higher for themselves. Well done all.
Man of the match was split between Jake McMurray and Aiden Conlon. Jake’s energy and enthusiasm for the game is a joy to watch. He was marking Callum Uprichard who is an excellent player and about a foot and a half bigger than Jake. They had a good battle.
Jake covered every blade of grass and broke down the attacks. Aiden played some great football and was rewarded with a stunning goal.
