Lurgan Town U15 Mid Ulster Team took on Annagh United in Portadown on Saturday 5th October for their 5th league game of the season.

After a very disappointing result last week, coaches and parents wanted to see a response and the lads did not disappoint. Lurgan came out of the traps early and were 2 goals up in the first 10 minutes. The first came from a cushion header from James Green and Ryan Lee Brown who finished from close range. In the 10th minute Campbell made it 2-0 with a great solo effort. Just before half time Lurgan made it 3 nil. Liam Campbell made a great run down the left wing and crossed the ball to Kelly who made no mistake.

Town kept up the pressure in the second half and got number 4. Banks won a free kick just outside the box and Ryan Lee drove an unstoppable free kick passed the keeper. The goals kept coming Banks got his first of the season on the 47 minute when he got played through by Kelly and he made no mistake. Liam Campbell got his second from a great long ball from Kelly. The best goal of the game came from great one touch football between Hendon and Campbell who skinned the Annagh right back and slipped a easy pass to Buck who had a easy tap in.

On the 65 minute Jack Mullins came close with a long range effort. Both Carson and Brown ended up with a hatrick each. James Green had the last say with a good finish high into the net. The final score was 12 -0. A first clean sheet of the season credit must go to the back four who never give Annagh United a sniff at goal all afternoon. Great response from last week’s defeat. Next up is Annalong where the team will be looking for another win.
