The U13 Mid Ulster lads travelled to Portadown to play Craigavon City and came away with a cracking 4-3 win.
After a good start Craigavon took control of the game and took a 2-0 lead, they also hit the post so we were lucky not to be 3 down at the break.
The Lurgan boys had to be told at half time that the performance was well below par and well below the standard that they have set themselves lately.
They set out in the 2nd half and after a few minutes David Ward was on hand to score from a well worked corner. 5 minutes later Aiden Conlon got a well deserved equaliser.
With 20 minutes of the match left both teams pressed for another goal and a bit of pressure from Craigavon saw them take a 3-2 lead. This seemed to spur Lurgan on, and from another corner David Ward who was probably the smallest player on the pitch scored with a powerful back post header to equalise.
The game had 7 minutes left when Cody McArdle shot across the keeper into the bottom corner to put Lurgan ahead. Both teams had another couple of chances to score but Town held on for a massive win.
All players played their part today and can hold their heads high. We only had 11 players available today so no one was substituted, everyone was exhausted afterwards.
Man of the match today was Jack Crawford. Playing out of position as Goalkeeper he had an excellent game.
Team: Crawford, Barr, McArdle, Emerson, Adamson, Nelson, Ward, Conlon, Russell, Bradbury, Kennedy.
