U8s In Crusaders Tournament

After a slow sluggish start to the Crusaders FC tournament and a lesson in football from Glentoran, a draw against Hillsborough boys and a defeat again against Glenavon, lead the boys into playing for the participation trophy.

Suddenly the boys settled into tournament mode. An entertaining semi final v Crusaders Colts finished goalless and went to penalties thankfully the guys held their nerve to win the shootout 3-1.

On to the participation trophy final v Bertie Peacock Youth. A solid performance and the best football of the day was left until the final. The match was tied 1-1 at full time. Again a penalty shootout and some super saves from our goalie and super strikes by the boys ensured that the boys came home with 4th place.

All players received a medal and the boys were very happy with the trophy. A great day and lots of fun and and most important games against other teams who they normally don’t play against in an extremely well run tournament William and Mark are extremely proud of the boys.
