Early Pressure Pays Off

Lurgan Town Colts U13’s took on East Coast Striker Colts at Glenmore Lisburn on Saturday 7th April in the U13 League Fixture.

Lurgan started the brightest and came close from a corner from Liam Campbell. It did not take long until Town got the opening goal. A through ball from Toby Haire found Jake McMurray in space and he drove a unstoppable shot passed the keeper to make it 1-0. Lurgan kept up the pressure and nearly doubled there lead when a Liam Campbell shot. Town made it 2-0 when Noah Trainor headed in from a Campbell corner.

On the 20 min Town were awarded a free outside the box Daniel Graham took this and Caolan Ritchie flicked this goal bond where the East Coast keeper couldn’t keep it out. Colts where well on top and made it four nil when Lewis Briggs finished well from outside the box. East Coast strikers pulled one back just after half time this came from a corner which Town did not deal with.

Good first half performance from the Colts but didn’t really get it going in the second half.

Next up for Lurgan is Crewe this Monday night 9 April at Wallace Park 6.30 kick off.
