Lurgan Town Under 13’s traveled to Dromore to take on Banbridge Town for a top of the table league game. Town started well and took the lead with good work from Jake McMurry down the right hand side and played in Adam Banks who finished from close range. Lurgan kept up the pressure and should of made 2-0 good work from Daniel Graham played in Adam Banks who shot straight at the keeper.
It was all one way street and the changes kept on coming this time Caolan Ritchie received the ball out wide used his pace to go pass the Banbridge defender and unselfish passed the ball to Adam Banks who unfortunately couldn’t get on the end of it. Town had one more change before half time to make it 2-0 when Jake NcMurry hit the crossbar if rebounded to Banks who blasted over.
Lurgan started off the second half where there left off and made it 2-0 when Jack O’Brien played a lovely through ball to Caolan Ritchie who made sure this time. Lurgan rang in the changes and it wasn’t long untill Carson got in the action. Jake Byers made a crunching tackle in midfield and played in Carson who made it 3-0.
It was all Lurgan at this stage and Ben Hendron put a lovely ball over the top and Luke Carson volleyed the ball into the empty net to make it 4-0. With only 10 mins left Lurgan let Banbridge back into the game by switching off at the back and allowed the Banbridge forward to nip in and score.
At the other end Luke Carson had a great change to get his hat-trick but pulled his shot wide. Town looking rattled at the back and 2 bad errors made the score 4-3. But they held on to the win to move them top of the league.
Going forward into next weeks game we must learn to see the game out take our changes and keep concentrating for the whole 60 plus mins.
