Lurgan Town Mid Ulster Under 15’s played their first game in a month on Saturday away to local rivals Portadown Youth and it was the Lurgan side that came away with all 3 points in this 8 goal thriller.
Lurgan Town started of the brighter of the two teams and were soon two goals to the good from Sebastian Bombkas’ well taken goal and a goal direct from a corner kick from Conor Lavery. Portadown pulled a goal back but almost immediately Lurgan made it 3-1 when the lively Andrew McCallion got on the end of a cross to drive it home past the Ports keeper.
Portadown came out battling at the start of the second half and soon made it 3-2. Portadown continued to pressure the Lurgan Town defence but against the run of play Rileigh Jamison made it 4-2 when he got on the end of a brilliant Andrew McCallion cross to reach 20 goals for the season so far. Portadown then made it 4-3 and despite a few nervous moments Andrew McCallion then sealed the win with a nice finish to make the final score 5-3.
