Narrow Defeat For U15s

under-15-mid-ulster

Lurgan Town Under 15’s lost against Annagh Utd on Saturday morning in a highly entertaining game at Kernan Playing Fields. Annagh started the brightest of the two teams and took an early lead when their player was brought down in the box and the Referee pointed to the spot . The penalty was dispatched and soon it was two nil with the Lurgan defence all at sea once again. Lurgan started to come into the game more as the half came to an end with Conor Lavery producing a great save from the Annagh goalkeeper ,but as Lurgan tried to get back into the game they were hit on the break and Annagh went into the break three goals to the good.
After a few harsh words at the break from the Lurgan Town coaching staff, the Lurgan team were completely different team to the one in the first half . Conor Lavery scored to make it 3-1 and with the whole defence playing far better ,Annagh just could not produce another worthwhile effort on goal and when Rileigh Jamison scored to make it 3-2 Lurgan started to believe they could get something out of this game. Try as they may they just could not find the equaliser, although a corner kick swung in by Adam Bonis in the very last minute caused a bit of a panic in the Annagh defence it was eventually cleared and that was the final action of the match.
Lurgan Town coaching staff believe that if the boys show the same attitude and desire as they did in that second half it will only be a matter of time before results will start going their way
