Convincing Win For U14s

under 14 mid ulster

On Saturday Lurgan Town MU14s took on Armagh City Eagles in their first cup match of the season. Town opened up the scoresheet with a screamer from the halfway line by Lewis McCavigan. Shortly after Dylan McKerr finished  following a nice cross. David McNally scored 2 goals and then assisted by Ryan Prunty for his first of the day. 2 brilliantly executed corners from Ben Walsh landed right on Josh Milne’s head for him to score 2 from centre back, making it 7-0 at the end of the first half.

Not too long after a few substitutions Lurgan scored again with Calum Gordon’s first touch of the ball and then he played  through Ryan Prunty in on goal to slot it past the keeper. A quick Lewis Kennedy corner to Corey Campbell who beautifully whipped it into the back post for an unmarked Calum Gordon to head  home to make it 10-0. Ryan prunty then scored his second of the day. Calum Gordon was unlucky to hit a shot off the defender into his own net for an OG.  After Armagh took kick off Lurgan found themselves defending with only a few players back and Armagh took their chance and shot from outside the box for it to go over Rhys Lawlor’s head who didn’t have to do much all game. Then the final whistle blew and another outstanding performance from Lurgan Town U14s mid Ulster team.
