U11 Lisburn League Side Remain Unbeaten

Lurgan Town Under 11 Lisburn League side had a very comfortable win against Colin Valley in this weeks game.  In a one sided contest Lurgan Town were on the attack immediately with Lukas Moles, Jesse Turner and Adam Furphy all going close and all were unlucky not to score.

Lukas executed a difficult turn to beat his opponent and passed to Liam Caroll who was unfortunate with his shot.  Adam and Aaron Kerr were strong in defence and were quick to bring Lurgan Town back into attack. Matthew Hughes was always comfortable on the ball and set up many attacks as well.  Calum Carson had a shot well saved by the keeper and from the kick out Aaron battled to win the ball.  He fed Calum who passed to Jesse who was quick to take advantage of the keeper being out of position to score-1:0.

Josh Martin played his usual strong game at the back and his accurate passing started off many an attack.  Adam was unlucky not to score from open play while at the other end Conan McCafferty pulled off a great save from a rare free kick.  Adam came close with a fierce shot and William Bleakes was unlucky not to double the score with a clever shot.  Jesse had a strike saved by the keeper but Christopher Heasley was in the right place to tap the ball into the net for a 2:0 score at half time.

After the restart again it seemed all the play was in the Colin Valley half with Town coming close on many occasions.  As usual Lurgan showed off their accurate passing and movement, which seemed instinctive at times. Daryl Houston came on to play centre midfield and Darrach Woods took up his position on the wing. Calum was pulled down on his way to goal but Town couldn’t score from the free kick.  Indeed there were other free kicks but Town couldn’t convert.  William, Aaron, Jesse and Adam kept the Valley keeper busy but couldn’t add to the score sheet.  The Colin Valley keeper played very well and was the main reason that Lurgan Town couldn’t add to their tally.  A firmly struck ball was headed back into play by William’s grandad from the side lines but Town didn’t need the extra player and their undefeated record continues.  Keep it up lads!!
