U15s Disappointed With A Draw

Lurgan Town Under 15’s were left feeling somewhat disappointed after their match against local rivals Craigavon City on Friday night, as they only came away with a point in a match were they had so much possession. Lurgan Town started the brighter of the two teams and played some nice football at times. stand in keeper Scott McCullough had little to do in the first half but what he had to do he done it well and confidently. Lurgan’s possession never paid off and indeed it was Craigavon who took the lead through a really well taken goal. So going into the break it was one nil to Craigavon.
Lurgan came out for second half with even more purpose but for all their possession again they just could not find the back of the Craigavon net. Alex Archer came close with a well struck free kick and Conor Lavery was also unlucky with a lovely lob over the keeper. The Lurgan Town defence were playing really well especially Adam Graham who was starting for the first time this season and they never let Craigavon produce another shot on target in the whole of the second half.
Time was running out for the Lurgan side but with only a minute or so left on the clock they got a bit of luck which has maybe not always been the case this season when they were awarded a penalty kick. Rileigh Jamison stepped up to take it and slotted it home for a sure of the spoils. Final score Craigavon City 1 v 1 Lurgan Town
