Under 11s Progress In NI Cup

Another Saturday, another excellent win in a cup match for Lurgan Town U11 LL team.  This week Tandragee were overwhelmed in another ruthless display by Town in the NI Cup. Lurgan Town were quickly on the score sheet with Matthew Hughes and Calum Carson capitalising on fluent passing throughout the team.  Superb team interplay allowed Jesse Turner to score his first of the day with a fierce shot into the bottom corner. Darrach Woods and Daryl Houston were always willing to press forwards on the wings, and Darrach took advantage of confusion in the Tandragee goal to prod home Lurgan’s fourth goal of the day.  The game seemed to be almost over as a contest as on the stroke of half time  William Bleakes scored with a well angled header.

Tandragee started the second half with more purpose but on any occasion that they were able to break through, Josh Martin and Aaron Kerr were in control and Liam Carroll in goal was rarely troubled.  A poorly taken goal kick by Tandragee allowed William to claim his second goal of the day.  The play and passing among the boys seemed second nature with Lukas Moles and Christopher Heasley always in control in midfield.  Jesse’s quick feet allowed him to bag 2 more goals.  On the one occasion Tandragee were through on goal Liam produced a fine save.  An excellently taken shot by Adam Furphy saw the score reach 9:0 to Lurgan.  Well Done yet again boys- another great display of energy and team work.
