Barcelona Cup 2016 – Day 3 Round Up

Phew what a pulsating day to wrap up the Barcelona Cup for our U10s and U12s. Today the guys played out the remainder of the group games and then it was on to the knockout stages of the competition.

Both U10 teams reached the semi final stages with the Predators losing out to eventual champions Barcelona on penalties. The Vapors went down 2-1 to BK Olympic from Sweden. Both teams then met in the 3rd/4th place play off game with the Vapors taking the win by 2 goals to 1. Jesse Turner also picked up the golden boot award for his magnificent 15 goals. Bobby Harvey also scored an impressive 7 goals.

The U12 teams also met each other in the knockout stages with the Predators winning by 4 goals to 2. The Predators eventually went on to finish 11th in the competition with a 1-0 win over AS ST CYR of France. The Vapors finished in 16th place and lost their final game 2-1 against Soccer Elite FA.

A fantastic trip for all those involved and one that will stay in the memory for a long time. We will review it in more detail in the April issue of Winning Isn’t Everything. For now check out the images from Day 3 below:
